We made it! It was only a short 83 miles for our final leg of our 4400 mile journey but Ron did still have to drive in some pretty heavy rains. We saw numerous cars off the road but we arrived safe. We figured out how to get the keys out of the lockbox, which garage to park in, and how to make it up to our condo without too much trouble. We unpacked the car, put away our things, and went exploring to find the pools, hot tub, sauna, grills etc. The condo is as we expected from the website and I'm sure that this will be a great place to spend the next month. While waiting for Christine and Jason to come for a visit we just sat back and read.
Christine and Jason came over and brought us some California wine and some family pictures to make the condo feel like home. After they left we went to Saint Brigid's for mass. We had planned to walk as it is less than a mile from here but Mother Nature had other ideas. They had a musical group of only three - a guitarist and two singers - but they were really good and made it a delightful worship service. I think we will go back. From there we hit the grocery store down the street to stock up a bit as the refrigerator was bare. Back "home" we had pizza and a beer and called it a night. Here are some pictures of "home" for the next month. Tomorrow weather permitting we will explore the neighbor and head down to our favorite spot Pacific Beach.
