Day 5 Charlotte to Fayetteville, North Carolina

Woke up to another beautiful day in Charlotte.  We took another walk and enjoyed the early afternoon on the porch before we said goodbye to our great Carolina hosts and took off for Fayetteville.  Even though we may not see Lou and Judy but twice a year we pick up conversation as if we see them every week.  They have a lovely home and we're made to feel so comfortable.

Another walk - taking advantage of the beautiful weather.  Ron and Judy lead the way

These daffodils ARE blooming

Carolina snow - hopefully the last we see on this vacation.

We journeyed to Fayetteville to meet up with a friend that we hadn't seen in 27 years.  Nancy was someone we met as newlyweds in Greenville and we still have such fond memories of that time. It was wonderful reuniting with her and learning where life had taken her since 1986 although the two hours we spent together having diner was hardly enough time.  She's an amazing woman and we are glad we reconnected with her.  She gifted us with a beautiful painting she had done.  Did we mention that she's an incredibly talented artist?

Yes - it was 81 when we got to Fayetteville - what a change from when we left a few days ago

Reunion with a dear friend after 27 years

We may not post much the next few days. The plan is to get as far as we can each day and to reach the coast as soon as possible.

GO DUKE!  oops they lost to Carolina.
