Hawaiian Adventure - Day 2 - Thursday, October 23, 2014

Kihei, Maui

Slept until about 7:30 and then got our day started. We went to a presentation by a representative of the condo to see what excursions we might want to take. After that Jason made us a delicious breakfast of egg, cheese and chorizo burritos. It was time then to explore the local area. We drove down the main road and went to Makena Beach and then to Po'olenalena Beach where we enjoyed some sun and surf. We didn't stay too long so as not to burn as temps were already in the 80's by 11:00.  We decided to get a light lunch because we were meeting Jason's Dad, stepmother, uncle and some of their friends at the Lahaina Yacht Club at 6:30 for Lobster dinner. For lunch we went to the Pupu Lounge and we had ceviche and a seabass sandwich.  We also had a few Mai Tais as it was "happy hour".  I think it's always happy hour in Maui.  We headed back to the condo to clean up and then went and had a lovely dinner as guests of Captain Tom Casey, Jason's uncle.  We are thinking of joining the Chaumont Yacht Club back home as most Yacht clubs offer world-wide reciprocity... so next time in Hawaii we can just walk in the Maui Yacht Club without worrying about being invited by a member.  After dinner we  made some plans for boating the next few days. We were back to the condo and in bed by 10 p.m. - an early evening but we need to be back north of Lahaina tomorrow by 8:30 a.m. for our next adventure which we will share with you in tomorrow's blog ... stay tuned.
